Italian OK

So the recipe! First of all I’d like to say that this is not my recipe and I found it from the following site:

http://www.misya.info/index.php/2007/07/21/fetta-a-latte.htm

As you can see the site is in Italian and so I have translated it so if you don’t speak Italian you can enjoy it too!

Here we go, homemade Kinder Fetta A Latte, make sure you follow the cooking times exactly otherwise the sponge wont have the consistency of the original article.

Ingredients:

  • 2 egg whites
  • 60 gr icing sugar
  • 50 gr softened butter
  • 60 gr 00 flower
  • 3 spoonfuls of bitter cocoa
  • 250 ml cream
  • 3 spoonfuls of honey
  • 1 spoonful of yeast for sweets

Method:

First turn on the oven to 200 °.

In a bowl mix the softened butter and icing sugar until you get a type of cream. Add the egg whites slowly and mix these in also.

Now add the flour, yeast and the cocoa.  Mix slowly until a type of smooth cake mix is formed

Place some baking paper on a tray and pour half of the mix into the middle of it. With a spoon spread the mix into a rectangle, make sure it’s not too thin. Cook this for 4 minutes exactly!

In the meantime do the exact same with the other half of the mix, cook this when the 1st has finished cooking. Once they have both cooked leave them to one side to cool.

With an electric whisk whisk the cream ( that has just been removed from the fridge) adding the honey as you go, make sure both ingredients are well mixed.

Mix the cream/honey mix on nearly all of one side of the sponge making sure to leave a small border. When this is done gently place the other sponge rectangle on top.

Press down gently with your hands and with the use of a rolling pin very gently roll over the sponge until the cream begins to reach the borders of the sponge.

Now put everything in the fridge for at least 1 hour. After an hour remove from the fridge and with a sharp knife cut the excess sponge from the cake so that a perfect rectangle is achieved.

Now cut the cake into lots of smaller, portion sized rectangles. Once done wrap the mini home made Kinder cakes in aluminum foil and place in the fridge until ready to be consumed.

I hope you all enjoy this fantastic unique recipe!
